Emergency and recovery operations after russian attack completed in Kyiv. Number of victims exceeds 90

Emergency repair work has been completed in Kyiv following a massive airstrike by the russian aggressor’s military on the night of May 23–24. Ninety-four people were affected by the missile strikes, and two of them were killed.

It was reported by the State Emergency Service (SESU) of Ukraine.

Rescue workers have completed their work in the Shevchenkivskyi District of the capital, where shelling by the occupiers destroyed a residential apartment building.

A russian missile completely destroyed the building’s entrance from the first to the fifth floor. This strike claimed the lives of two people.

In total, 94 people in Kyiv were victims of the russian attack, 92 of whom sustained injuries and trauma. Three children were among the victims. Another 13 people were rescued during search and rescue operations.

During emergency restoration work, rescuers dismantled over 165 square meters of reinforced concrete structures and removed over 1,080 cubic meters of construction debris. K-9 teams searched approximately 100 square meters of the destroyed structures for survivors.

A total of 871 rescuers and 201 pieces of specialized equipment were deployed to address the aftermath of the russian attack.

As the Ukrainian News agency previously reported, earlier today, Ukraine’s Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko stated that law enforcement agencies had detained an 18-year-old native of the Cherkasy Region who was documenting the aftermath of the russian strike on Kyiv.

As a reminder, as a result of the russian strike on Kyiv, approximately 40% of the exhibits from the Chornobyl National Museum were lost.
