Death toll from massive attack on Kyiv rises to three

The death toll from the massive russian strike that took place on May 24 has risen in the capital. So far, three people are known to have been killed and 92 have been injured, according to the Kyiv Police.

During emergency rescue operations at the site of the strike, rescuers discovered human remains. According to preliminary data from law enforcement, they may belong to a 62-year-old woman who lived in a partially destroyed building in the Shevchenkivskyi District and had previously been listed as missing.

A forensic DNA analysis will be conducted in the near future to definitively establish the identity of the person and identify the remains found. Search and rescue operations and the clearing of debris in the damaged building are ongoing.

As the Ukrainian News agency previously reported, earlier today, Ukraine’s Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko stated that law enforcement agencies had detained an 18-year-old native of the Cherkasy Region who was documenting the aftermath of the russian strike on Kyiv.

Emergency repair work has been completed in Kyiv following a massive airstrike by the russian aggressor’s army on the night of May 23–24. Ninety-four people were affected by the missile strikes, two of whom were killed.
