Russia may modernize its Kh-101 cruise missiles. However, the likely technologies are not new, which is why Ukraine's air defense effectively shoots them down, in particular with the F-16.

This was stated in an interview with the website Novyny.LIVE by the head of the communications department of the Ukrainian Air Force, Yurii Ihnat.

According to Yurii Ihnat, russian missiles can indeed receive upgrades. Among them: jamming systems, shooting thermal or radar traps and other elements to complicate interception.

At the same time, he noted that such technologies are not new, and most of such solutions have already been used before.

Ihnat also emphasized that the Kh-101 remains a target that the Ukrainian air defense is capable of effectively shooting down, especially with the involvement of aviation, in particular the F-16.

"The Commander of the Air Force, Lieutenant General Anatolii Kryvonozhko, always notes the pilots, because they are young guys who have been trained in different countries. And today these aircraft are showing incredible results, especially in shooting down cruise missiles, which allowed us to preserve critical infrastructure in different regions this winter. This is everyone's merit, of course, but our F-16 pilots are really, as they say, cool guys," summed up the head of the communications department of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
