According to the evidence base of the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU), a real prison term was given to a russian agent who was exposed in March 2025 for setting fire to a Ukrzaliznytsia signaling installation in Kyiv. This is stated in the SSU report.

As reported, then the employees of the Kyiv Main Directorate of the Security Service and the National Police detained the attacker "hot on the trail" when he and his accomplice tried to escape after setting fire to a railway line.

Currently, the main executor of the order of the aggressor country of the russian federation received 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.

As the investigation showed, the attacker turned out to be a resident of the capital recruited by the enemy, who illegally worked as an operator of a fraudulent call center.

He came to the attention of russian special services when he was looking for additional earnings in specialized Telegram channels. In exchange for the promise of "quick money", he agreed to engage in arson of facilities of the capital's branch of Ukrzaliznytsia.

According to the instructions of the russians, he was supposed to destroy the relay cabinets of the signaling installation that regulates the movement of trains on the main lines. In this way, the enemy hoped to disrupt the transport logistics of freight transportation.

To carry out the enemy's mission, the agent hired his acquaintance, a local unemployed man, for money.

Together they bought a hammer to break the door of the electrical panel, and using an incendiary mixture, they set fire to the equipment at night.

During the search, smartphones, clothing, and arson tools with evidence of work for the aggressor country were seized from the detainees.

According to the materials of the Security Service, the agent was found guilty of sabotage committed by a group of persons in a preliminary conspiracy under martial law (Part 2 of Article 28, Part 2 of Article 113 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The case materials regarding his accomplice are currently being considered in court.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Security Service has eliminated another scheme to evade mobilization in the Kyiv Region. As a result of comprehensive measures in the capital region, a criminal group that "booked" "evaders" for money or illegally smuggled them out of Ukraine was neutralized.
