Two F/A-18 fighter jets collide during US air show, crews eject

Two US Navy F/A-18 aircraft collided during the Gunfighter Skies air show in the US state of Idaho. All four crew members were able to eject safely.

After the collision, the Mountain Home Air Force Base in western Idaho was placed in isolation mode. Rescue services are working at the scene, and the investigation into the circumstances of the accident is also underway.

A video of the moment of the collision was published online. The footage shows four parachutes opening in the sky after the crash.

Kim Sykes, marketing director for Silver Wings of Idaho, which helped organize the air show, said all four crew members ejected safely.

Organizers said the Gunfighter Skies program included demonstration flights and parachute jumps. The event was billed as a "celebration of aviation history and a showcase of modern military capabilities."

As a reminder, in March of this year, the US military reported the loss of a Boeing KC-135 Stratotanker tanker aircraft, which crashed in western Iraq while performing a combat mission.
