Trump takes Musk and heads of Apple, Boeing and Meta to China
More than ten CEOs of major companies, including Elon Musk, Tim Cook, and Larry Fink, were invited to join the US delegation during US President Donald Trump’s visit to China on May 13.

Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, as well as the heads of the following companies, may join the trip:
- Apple — Tim Cook;
- BlackRock — Larry Fink;
- Blackstone — Stephen Schwarzman;
- Boeing — Kelly Ortberg;
- Goldman Sachs — David Solomon;
- Meta — Dina Powell McCormick;
- Micron Technology — Sanjay Mehrotra;
- Qualcomm — Cristiano Amon;
- Illumina — Jacob Thiesen;
- Mastercard — Michael Miebach;
- Visa — Ryan McInerney;
- Cargill — Brian Sikes;
- Citigroup — Jane Fraser;
- Cisco — Chuck Robbins;
- Coherent — Jim Anderson;
- GE Aerospace — H. Lawrence Culp.
Why were business leaders invited on the trip?
CBS News notes that some of the executives have significant business interests in China. Among them is Elon Musk.
What Trump plans to discuss in Beijing?
Earlier, Donald Trump stated that the current US administration maintains good relations with China and does business with it. During his meeting with Xi Jinping in Beijing, he plans to discuss economic and energy issues.
As a reminder, the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs officially announced that Trump will visit China on May 13–15 at the invitation of Xi Jinping.
