The capybaras of the Kyiv Zoo have returned to their summer enclosure. From now on, you can watch their walking, swimming and sunbathing all day long. This is reported by the Kyiv City State Administration.

"The capybaras' summer habitat is as close to natural conditions as possible: a winding stream, a sandy beach, grassy meadows, sprawling bushes, shady trees and their favorite thing - puddles with mud, in which these animals love to wallow," the report says.

Capybaras are the largest rodents in the world and pure vegetarians. Their main diet includes green grass and special vitamin muesli. Additional treats include fresh sprouts of grain and legume crops sown on their "hacienda".

You can find the capybara family in the ungulate row of KyivZoo, between the guanaco and domestic goat enclosures.

The zoo is open from 10 am to 5 pm (on Monday from 12 pm), and visitors can stay on the territory until 6:30 pm.
