Two russian drones crash in Latvia, one hits oil depot in Rēzekne

Two foreign drones that flew in from russia were recorded crashing in Latvia. According to the country's Air Force, the drones crossed the airspace on Thursday morning, after which the National Armed Forces (NAF), together with the police and rescuers, began work at the scene of the incidents. This was reported by LSM.

One of the drones hit an empty oil tank on the territory of the East-West Transit branch in Rēzekne. The report of smoke at the oil storage facility was received by law enforcement at around 03:30 am, and the services are currently investigating all the circumstances of the incident.

Due to the incident in Rēzekne, as well as in the Rēzekne and Ludza regions, classes in all educational institutions were canceled on May 7. In Balva region, local authorities decided to switch schools to distance learning, while kindergartens continue to operate as usual. Units of the State Fire and Rescue Service and the police continue to work at the sites of debris fall to ensure the safety of the population.
