Russia, the aggressor nation, violated the "ceasefire" declared by Ukraine at midnight on May 5–6. The enemy attack, involving 108 drones and 3 missiles, lasted throughout the night, and in the morning, strikes were launched against Kharkiv and Zaporizhzhia. Ukraine’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrii Sybiha wrote about this on his page on X.

"Moscow has once again ignored a realistic and fair call for a cessation of hostilities, supported by other states and international organizations. This indicates that Russia rejects peace, and its false calls for a ceasefire on May 9 have nothing to do with diplomacy. Putin cares only about military parades, not human lives," Sybiha emphasized.

The minister added that this stance requires increased pressure on the russian regime, including the imposition of new sanctions, isolation, holding russia accountable for its crimes, and strengthening support for Ukraine in all areas.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the aggressor country, the russian federation, unilaterally announced a ceasefire that will be in effect on May 8 and 9.
