Russia fails to publish putin's weekly rating after index drops to lowest since 2022

The All-Russian Center for the Study of Public Opinion (VTsIOM) has not published another trust rating for russian president vladimir putin after his index dropped to its lowest level since 2022.

The Moscow Times reported on the lack of publication.

According to standard practice, VTsIOM publishes the results of surveys on the level of trust in politicians and assessments of state institutions every Friday. However, on Friday, May 1, this data did not appear, and it was not published after the weekend either.

In 2023, the center published a similar rating even on May 9, despite a holiday in russia. At that time, putin's "approval" level was 78.3%.

According to the latest available data, this figure dropped to 65.6%, which is 12.7 percentage points less than last year and is the lowest level during the full-scale war against Ukraine.

The Washington Post attributed the decline in support to the population's war fatigue, the consequences of sanctions, and restrictions on Internet access in russia.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in February, a number of russian state media outlets wrote that the russian authorities had decided to completely block Telegram in the country. It was allegedly planned for April of this year.

Recall that the slowdown in Telegram's work in russia caused sharp criticism in the circles most loyal to the Kremlin, which has not been observed in russia for a long time.
