Electricity imports in April 2026 fell by 40%
In April, compared to March, Ukraine reduced electricity imports by 40% to 558,200 MWh.
This is reported by the ExPro publication, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
The report states that supplies decreased in all directions, except for the Polish one.
In early April, imports across the Slovak border were suspended due to repairs to the interstate line, which will last until the end of May 2026.
Imports from Moldova also fell significantly - by 75% compared to March.
Most electricity - 55% - continues to arrive via the Hungarian border,
However, compared to April 2025, electricity imports increased 2.8 times.
Thus, the largest increase in supplies over the year was via the Romanian border - 4 times, and imports from Slovakia and Moldova decreased during this period.
It is noted that in April 2026, electricity exports increased by 10% compared to March 2026 to 33,000 MWh, and compared to April 2025, exports fell by 78%.
In particular, deliveries across the Romanian border doubled.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in March, compared to February, Ukraine reduced electricity imports by 25% to 942,000 MWh.
On March 5, Ukraine resumed electricity exports at certain hours of the day at a minimum level and exclusively with a surplus in the energy system.
In January-February 2026, Ukraine did not export electricity.
