Electronic Arts CEO Andrew Wilson spoke at the iicon conference in Las Vegas, where he commented on the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on employment in the company, GameFilesNews writes.

According to the head of EA, despite the large-scale implementation of AI in the quality control department, the company is hiring more QA specialists than ever before.

"I've seen the data: now almost 85% of the quality control work is performed using machine learning or AI algorithms. However, as a company, we are hiring more QA people than ever before," he noted.

Wilson explained that AI performs routine tasks, while humans are needed to analyze its results. When asked where AI could replace EA employees, he said, "so far it's been almost exclusively a supplement."

What is iicon?

The iicon conference is taking place from April 27 to 29 in Las Vegas. The event is organized by the Entertainment Software Association, the former organizer of the E3 exhibition, which officially ceased to exist in 2023. Unlike E3, iicon is not focused on game presentations, but on communication between game industry executives and leaders from the fields of technology, entertainment, and sports.

It was previously reported that, according to a survey, every second Ukrainian is ready to communicate with AI instead of a living person.
