China demands EU lift sanctions against its companies - Reuters
China's Ministry of Commerce expressed strong disagreement with the European Union's decision to include Chinese companies in the 20th package of sanctions against russia. This was stated in the Chinese Ministry of Commerce, Reuters reports.
The restrictions apply to companies that can supply goods and components for the russian military-industrial complex. Beijing called on Brussels to immediately reconsider this decision, as it harms economic stability.
The spokesman for the ministry stressed that such actions by the EU contradict previous agreements between the leaders of China and the European Union.
"This undermines mutual trust and the overall stability of bilateral relations," the ministry said. The Chinese side considers these measures to be unfounded and hinder normal international trade.
Official Beijing also warned of its readiness to take measures to protect the interests of its business in the international arena. The ministry stressed that the European Union will be responsible for all possible consequences for bilateral relations. Currently, China is demanding that its companies be removed from the sanctions lists in order to avoid further aggravation of the economic confrontation.
Recall that French President Emmanuel Macron said that Europe is under unprecedented pressure, as the United States, China and russia are acting contrary to its interests. The politician called on European countries to be more independent and united in defending their positions.
