Odesa suffers several waves of enemy missile and drone strikes, 9 people killed, 23 injured

As a result of the enemy attack on the night of Thursday, April 16, nine people were killed, 23 were injured, and port, critical and residential infrastructure facilities were damaged.

Oleh Kiper, the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, announced this on the Telegram channel, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

"At night, the enemy massively attacked Odesa. The city experienced several waves of mixed missile and drone strikes," the head of the Regional Military Administration wrote.

He reported that seven people were killed, at least 12 were injured, but then supplemented this information with news data: according to data at 9:56 a.m., as a result of night shelling in Odesa, 9 people were confirmed dead, and another 23 people were injured.

Port, critical and residential infrastructure facilities were damaged in the city.

In particular, the facade walls and glazing of at least three high-rise buildings were destroyed, and a dormitory and adjacent buildings were damaged.

Fires broke out as a result of shelling on certain infrastructure facilities.

Search and rescue operations and liquidation of the consequences are currently underway in Odesa.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on the night of April 11, russian occupation forces attacked Odesa with strike drones, two people were killed as a result of hitting a residential area, there are injuries.

As a result of the night attack on Kyiv, houses in four districts were destroyed, 5 people were killed.
