Ukraine receives last tranche of GBP 752 million from UK at expense of russia's immobilized assets

Ukraine has received the last tranche of GBP 752 million (about USD 1 billion) from the United Kingdom under the G7 Extraordinary Revenue Acceleration for Ukraine (ERA) initiative.

It was announced by the Ministry of Finance, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

The funds will be used to strengthen Ukraine's defense capabilities.

On March 1, 2025, Minister of Finance of Ukraine Serhii Marchenko and Chancellor of the Exchequer of the United Kingdom Rachel Reeves signed an agreement to provide Ukraine with GBP 2.26 billion (about USD 3 billion) for defense needs.

The first two tranches totaling GBP 1.5 billion were received in March and April 2025.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the funds are part of the G7's ERA mechanism totaling USD 50 billion. The loan will be serviced and repaid from future profits received from immobilized russian sovereign assets.

The financing is provided for 30 years.
