100 days of Budanov on Bankova: key decisions and first results
During his first 100 days as the head of the President's Office, Kyrylo Budanov has demonstrated a course of practical actions and an attempt to transfer the state system to a more proactive mode. This is stated in the material of TsN "Ten actions of Budanov in a hundred days".
"Action is the basis of everything: this world is made up of actions and their consequences, and only action will lead to results." He voiced this thesis during a meeting with students of the Kyiv School of Economics, and, as the authors note, it reflected the approach of the first months of his work on Bankova Street: the emphasis is not on rhetoric, but on concrete steps and results.
One of the key areas was participation in the negotiation process. It is not only about involvement, but also about an attempt to change the very logic of negotiations - to move from formal presence to achieving results and returning Ukraine to the role of a full-fledged subject of international dialogue.
The process of prisoner exchange was centralized in parallel. During this period, 659 Ukrainians were returned home, and the issue was integrated into a broader negotiation track. As a result, humanitarian issues are increasingly reaching the level of international diplomacy with the participation of partners.
An important foreign policy step was the development of a strategy to expand Ukraine's presence in Africa. After an interagency meeting with the participation of the MFA, the FIS and the DIU, it was announced that a systemic policy towards the countries of the continent and the Global South was being formed, with priorities and mechanisms for promoting interests.
Among the internal initiatives is the creation of the National Pantheon. The project envisages the return of the ashes of prominent Ukrainians to their homeland and the formation of a symbolic space of historical memory in Kyiv. According to preliminary data, dozens of such burials have already been identified around the world.
A separate set of decisions concerns the economy. Budanov headed the Council for Entrepreneurship Support and declared an approach that views the economy as a component of national security. This means changing the role of the state from a controlling body to a partner for business.
In the social sphere, the emphasis is on the eOselia affordable housing program. It has already covered more than 24,000 families, and the topic of housing is seen as a tool for returning Ukrainians, supporting the military and economic recovery.
The preservation of cultural heritage is also among the priorities. In this context, culture is viewed not only as a humanitarian sphere, but also as an element of security and international positioning of Ukraine
A change of approach has been initiated in the field of veteran policy: from the model of social assistance to the integration of veterans as an active resource of the state. It is about their role in community development and post-war reconstruction.
Special attention is paid to cooperation with religious organizations. The church is seen as a partner in humanitarian issues, support for the military and countering russian influence in the spiritual sphere.
The reformatting of the President's Office is called a key managerial decision. It is about reducing internal conflicts, strengthening coordination and moving to more open interaction with the parliament.
To summarize, the main changes boil down to three things: speed of decision-making, clear vertical responsibility, and reliance on deep analytics. Following this logic, the Office of the President is gradually moving from a reactive model to a proactive one with a focus on results.
