Today is Easter, Paskha, the Resurrection of Christ - one of the greatest religious holidays and one of the most favorite holidays of Ukrainians, which has a large number of customs, traditions and signs that have been passed down from generation to generation. Beliefs and traditions

From Saturday evening to Sunday morning, the Easter service is held, the priests proclaim "Christ is Risen!", and the faithful respond: "Truly He is Risen!". After the service, the festive procession goes around the church three times, the priest begins the consecration of Easter baskets. With the consecrated baskets, they hurried home to sit down at the festive table.

Returning to the house, the owner of the house with the basket stood on the threshold and said three times: "Christ is Risen", the whole family responded: "Truly He is Risen". Easter breakfast begins with a prayer. Some people start the festive treat, which is called breaking the fast, by cutting the holy Easter cake into as many pieces as there are family members, and then they start the eggs.

Another good Easter tradition is the christening, when everyone present at the festive table takes a krashanka or pysanka [Easter eggs - ed.] in their hands and knocks with each other. There are even interpretations of the results:
