Zelenskyy signs law on preparing citizens for national resistance

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has signed a law on preparing citizens for national resistance. This is stated in the message of the Verkhovna Rada on the Telegram channel, the Ukrainian News ageny reports.

The document introduces a new training model that integrates into the educational process at all levels - from secondary to higher education.

In particular, by this law, the Verkhovna Rada introduced the discipline "Fundamentals of National Resistance" in institutions of professional higher education instead of basic general military training.

The Verkhovna Rada also banned the recruitment of men who have not completed military service or military training to the civil service.

The law provides for the creation of special training centers and regulates the use of firearms for practical exercises.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on March 25, the Verkhovna Rada introduced the discipline "Fundamentals of National Resistance" in higher education institutions instead of basic military training. The study of the "Fundamentals of National Resistance" will not require obtaining a military specialty and acquiring the status of a person liable for military service.
