Not on time: AFU Ground Forces clarify information about mobilization of women
The Ground Forces stated that they are not preparing for the mobilization of women and are not developing any mechanisms for this. The command emphasized that the reports spread in recent days about the alleged preparation for such a step are groundless.
This was reported by the command of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
They stated that the wave of such reports in the Ukrainian media and the Internet is manipulative. The military believes that the enemy is using this topic to undermine the mobilization processes and discredit the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"We would like to emphasize right away: there have been no changes in the legislation of Ukraine regarding the regulation of this process. Women can join the Armed Forces of Ukraine exclusively at their own request, and only citizens with medical and pharmaceutical education should be registered for military service," the command added.
The Ground Forces also commented on the situation with the first female citizen of Ukraine, who accidentally got registered without having the appropriate education. After that, as noted, an internal investigation was conducted.
Within its framework, it was established that erroneous data was entered into the Oberih system back in 2021. An additional check also revealed a number of similar cases related to the formation of individual records in the system.
The command noted that it is currently impossible to correct such information through the relevant territorial recruitment and social support center. According to them, the Oberih information and communication system does not have the technical ability to delete information about citizens who are not conscripts, those liable for military service or reservists due to the inconsistency of the regulatory and legal framework.
In this regard, the Ground Forces addressed the General Staff and the Ministry of Defense with proposals that should eliminate gaps and shortcomings in the work of the Oberih system.
"This important issue is under constant control, and all identified inconsistencies are analyzed in detail. The Ground Forces command is open to dialogue and is interested in eliminating this problem," the Ground Forces concluded.
