Trump launches OnlyFarms portal and promises support for US farmers
US President Donald Trump announced the launch of the "OnlyFarms" portal, dedicated to his administration's agricultural policy, and held a meeting with farmers at the White House, where a large gold tractor was installed on the lawn.
This was reported by the White House.
During the event, Trump declared a "golden age" for US agriculture and called himself a defender of American farmers.
He promised to expand credit guarantees for small businesses in the agricultural sector, which has been affected by customs tariffs and price increases associated with the war in Iran.
The President also addressed the meeting participants with a comment on the situation in Iran, saying: "And by the way, we are doing very well in Iran, just so you understand. How good is our military?" quoted by The New York Times.
Trump called on John Deere and Caterpillar to produce larger and cheaper tractors. He added that the administration intends to reduce requirements that, according to him, increase the cost of equipment.
In addition, the President announced a change in renewable fuel standards and announced his intention to seek permission from Congress to use the E15 gasoline blend in the summer.
