Zelenskyy assures that AFU provided with fuel despite global crisis

Despite the global crisis in the fuel market, the Ukrainian Defense Forces are steadily receiving all the necessary energy resources. This was stated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy during an online briefing with Ukrainian and foreign journalists, LB.ua reports.

According to the head of state, Ukraine's total needs for diesel and gasoline, taking into account the needs of the military, amount to about 700,000 tons per month, which in annual terms reaches 7.2–7.4 million tons. The authorities clearly understand the mechanisms for ensuring these volumes and are currently working on additional separate agreements to guarantee the military the status of an unconditional priority under any conditions.

The President separately emphasized that the logistics and contract system is currently operating without failures. In addition to meeting current needs, the state is keeping supply volumes under control in order to avoid any risks of shortages in the future.

"Today, the army is fully supplied. So far, there are no complaints from the army. They are 100% supplied," Volodymyr Zelenskyy concluded, answering journalists' questions about the fuel security of the defense sector.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, from March 20 to May, Ukrainians can receive partial compensation for fuel costs purchased at gas stations participating in the programs: 15% for diesel, 10% for gasoline, and 5% for autogas. The maximum amount of cashback on fuel is UAH 1,000 per person per month. According to the Ministry of Economy, this will save from UAH 2 to UAH 11 per liter.
