Russian army attacks Odesa with strike drones at night, 2 people killed and 12 injured

Russian occupation troops attacked Odesa for the second time overnight, a maternity hospital was hit, a multi-storey building was partially destroyed, there are fires, killed and wounded.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the Odesa Regional Prosecutor's Office, the Head of the Odesa City Military Administration Serhii Lysak and the Head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration Oleh Kiper announced this on the Telegram messenger, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

Last night, the armed forces of the aggressor country russia massively attacked the civilian infrastructure of Odesa with strike drones.

As a result of the massive shelling, three multi-storey buildings, 12 private houses, a maternity hospital building and three educational institutions, including two preschools, were damaged.

10 cars were also damaged.

Regarding the maternity hospital, Kiper said that a drone hit the roof of a four-storey building without causing further fire.

At the time of the attack, there were 80 people in the institution, 33 of whom were medical workers, all of whom were in shelters.

As a result of the attack, damage was also recorded to critical and port infrastructure facilities.

According to the latest data, two people were killed: a 36-year-old woman died in hospital from injuries received, and the body of a 34-year-old man was removed from the apartment of a 5-story building.

Another 12 people were injured, including a 9-year-old boy.

The President said that the enemy used more than 60 drones in the strike on Odesa.

"There is no military sense, this is purely terror against ordinary civilian life. Among the objects that were affected are a maternity hospital, ordinary residential buildings, enterprises, port and critical infrastructure," Zelenskyy wrote.

Also that night there were strikes on the Poltava and Dnipropetrovsk Regions.

The head of state emphasized that each such strike proves that russia does not want to end the war, and therefore any easing of pressure on it is dangerous.

"Coordinated work to protect people and life will help us, will help the defense of our country and diplomacy. Thank you to all partners who work with us and support our people... Joint protection and coordinated actions can work best," he noted.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on the night of March 23, the occupiers attacked residential buildings in the suburbs of Odesa and the port infrastructure of the Odesa Region with drones.
