On March 19, the enemy made the largest breakthrough attempt since the beginning of hostilities in this area in the Lyman-Borivskyi Axis, the Third Army Corps said in a statement.

The forces of the 1st Tank and 20th Combined Arms Armies of the russian federation attacked the positions of the Third Corps simultaneously in 7 axes. The offensive involved more than 500 infantrymen, 28 units of armored vehicles and more than 100 units of motorized vehicles - buggies and ATVs.

However, the enemy began to suffer losses even on the approaches to the line of combat contact. Within four hours, the Third Corps units completely stopped the offensive: what was supposed to be a rapid breakthrough turned into a large-scale failure for the russians.

"For a month and a half, we observed signs of preparation for an offensive. The russians were increasing their guided aerial bombs attacks on our crossings through Oskil, trying to cut off logistics. They began to build their own pontoon crossings and demine the routes - this directly indicated preparation for a large-scale mechanized offensive.

We were preparing: defensive actions were practiced in different directions, each brigade had its own plan for repelling the attack. The corps coordinated these actions - and as a result, attacks were thwarted in all axes," Brigadier General Andrii Biletskyi said.

During the day, the brigades and regiments of the corps destroyed 405 enemy soldiers: 288 were irretrievable, the rest were medical losses.

The russian army failed to capture any settlements or positions. The destruction of the remnants of the manpower that managed to survive in the Third Corps kill zone continues.
