Trump calls NATO allies "cowards"
US President Donald Trump has criticized NATO allies for not providing assistance in the fight against Iran. It was reported by Reuters on Friday, March 20.
Trump said that NATO without the United States is a "paper tiger." According to him, the allies do not want to join the fight against Iran, but complain about high oil prices.
"Now that fight is Militarily WON, with very little danger for them, they complain about the high oil prices they are forced to pay, but don’t want to help open the Strait of Hormuz, a simple military maneuver that is the single reason for the high oil prices. So easy for them to do, with so little risk," Trump wrote.
The US President emphasized that he would remember those who did not help ensure the safety of navigation through the Iranian-controlled Strait of Hormuz.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on March 18, Finnish President Alexander Stubb said, that he sees potential in an agreement with US President Donald Trump to provide European military support for securing the security of the Strait of Hormuz in exchange for all the necessary assistance to Ukraine to reach an acceptable peace agreement with russia.
