Government limited cashback for fuel to UAH 1,000

The Cabinet of Ministers has limited cashback for fuel to UAH 1,000. This is stated in Resolution No. 342 of March 18, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"The amount of cashback for purchased fuel cannot exceed UAH 1,000," the resolution states.

Thus, the maximum amount of cashback for fuel will be up to UAH 1,000 per person per month, the total limit in the National Cashback program remains up to UAH 3,000 per month.

The resolution provides that until May 1, 2026, cashback for purchased fuel is calculated from the cost of fuel purchased by the buyer in the previous (reporting) month in the following amounts:

15% — diesel fuel (gas oil);

10% — motor gasoline;

5% — liquefied gas.

According to the Ministry of Economy, it will be possible to receive cashback on fuel starting from March 20.

According to the ministry's estimates, such a decision will allow saving from UAH 2 to UAH 11 on each liter of fuel, depending on its type.

The Ministry of Economy notes that for those who already use the National Cashback program, no additional actions are required; pay for the purchased fuel with a card, as for regular purchases in a store, cashback will be accrued in the same way as when purchasing other goods.

For new users, to join the program, you need to:

open a card for payments at one of the partner banks;

pay with a card connected to the program.

Cashback is accrued only if the payment is made with the card that was connected to participate in the program, the accumulated cashback will be displayed in the Diia application in the National Cashback section.

The funds accrued in the form of cashback can be spent on: payment for utilities; Ukrainian-made food; purchase of Ukrainian-made medicines and medical devices; payment for postal services; books; donations to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The list of gas stations participating in the program will be published on the official resources of the National Cashback program.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on March 12, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the preparation of new support programs for Ukrainians, in particular, an additional payment of UAH 1,500 for 13 million Ukrainians, including pensioners and recipients of social assistance, as well as support for citizens due to the destabilization of the fuel market due to the situation around Iran and the reduction in oil supplies to the world market.
