The International Monetary Fund team is coming to Kyiv today.

Yaroslav Zhelezniak, a member of the Verkhovna Rada from the Holos faction, announced this on Telegram, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

"The number one issue will be the story of taxes. After which our "eBachky" should submit such a bill to the Rada," he wrote.

According to the MP, the projected revenues from such a story will be as much as UAH 20 billion. And the government is already spending UAH 19.5 billion on the UAH 1,500 program alone.

"Let me remind you that the illegal tobacco market is worth UAH 25 billion, and we are losing about UAH 15-20 billion due to the lack of an online monitoring system... According to the tax authorities, this will affect 252,000 individual entrepreneurs.... From January 1, it is simply unrealistic to implement it technically. The system will collapse, and people will need to be taught for a long time," Zhelezniak summarized.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the International Monetary Fund expressed concern about Ukraine's ability to continue receiving assistance from the USD 8.1 billion package as the Verkhovna Rada is dragging its feet on measures needed to release the funding.
