Now everyone sees that Ukraine has strong positions - Zelenskyy

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the United States' appeal to Kyiv for help in the Middle East indicates the strengthening of Ukraine's role and its capabilities. According to him, it has now become obvious that Ukraine has its own "cards" in international politics.

The head of state said this in an interview with Irish blogger Caolan Robertson. During the conversation, the host drew attention to the fact that Washington turned to Ukraine for support, and not to allies such as France or Germany, and even refused the offer to use a British aircraft carrier.

Commenting on this, Zelenskyy noted that he feels proud, because such signals have become possible thanks to the Ukrainian military and the development of defense production since the beginning of the full-scale war.

"It's a good feeling. Now it's thanks to our soldiers - wonderful, wonderful people, and a lot of different industries that we have developed since the very beginning of the war. Now we have a high level," the President replied.

The President added that Ukraine had strong positions before, but did not demonstrate them openly. According to him, it is like in a card game: you can have a good combination, but do not rush to show it to your opponents. Now, Zelenskyy emphasized, everyone has seen that Ukraine has these "cards".

"I think so... We had them, like a good player. You can have good cards, but it is important not to show everyone that they are there. I think a year ago we also had them (cards - ed.), but we did not show them. But now everyone understands that they are there," Zelenskyy emphasized.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Ukraine has received 11 requests from countries bordering Iran, as well as from the US and Europe, for assistance in shooting down Iranian drones.
