Because they cheated: Trump says he is "eligible" for third presidential term
US President Donald Trump has hinted that he is eligible for another presidential term because he believes he was cheated in the 2020 election.
The current host of the White House said this before leaving for Texas, CNN quoted.
"Should we do one more one more term? Well, we’re entitled to it, because they cheated like hell in the second – we would actually be entitled, to think of it," Trump said.
CNN notes that there was no evidence of widespread fraud in the 2020 election, when Joe Biden was elected president of the United States.
Trump made the announcement about a third term during a meandering speech in the port of Corpus Christi, Texas. The publication notes that the American leader was wearing a baseball cap with the inscription "Gulf of America" and took the stage to his signature campaign song: "God Bless the USA" by Lee Greenwood.
Trump also recapped his State of the Union speech. In addition, he shared a strange story about a friend of his who said that his marriage had improved because thanks to the policies of the Trump administration his 401(k) account (an employer-sponsored retirement savings plan in the United States that allows employees to set aside a portion of their salary - ed) had grown.
