Zelenskyy awards Order of Merit to Minister of Internal Affairs Klymenko
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy awarded the Order of Merit, 3rd degree, to the Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko. This is stated in Decree No. 201 of February 25, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
The decree notes that Klymenko received the award for personal courage and dedication shown in protecting the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, conscientious and impeccable service to the Ukrainian people.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, 53-year-old Klymenko has been appointed as the Minister of Internal Affairs since February 2023.
In January 2023, the Cabinet of Ministers appointed the Head of the National Police Ihor Klymenko as Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs and entrusted him with the duties of Minister of Internal Affairs after the death of Minister of Internal Affairs Denys Monastyrskyi in a helicopter crash.
Klymenko has held the position of Head of the National Police since September 2019.
