The Naftogaz Group, in partnership with TotalEnergies, has secured liquefied natural gas (LNG) supplies from the United States through the Deutsche ReGas LNG terminal located on the island of Rügen (Germany) in the Baltic Sea.

This is said in a statement by the group, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

The report says that after regasification of LNG at the Deutsche ReGas terminal, Naftogaz will deliver the resource by pipelines through Poland to Ukraine, where it will be available to meet the country's needs in February.

"This winter is the most difficult since the beginning of the war due to constant shelling of gas infrastructure and extremely cold weather. The Naftogaz team is systematically working with our international partners to diversify sources and routes of supply to ensure stable supplies for Ukrainians. This new partnership opens up a new reliable import route for Ukraine for the current year, and this agreement is only the first step towards a long-term partnership," said Serhii Koretskyi, the Chairman of the Board of the Naftogaz of Ukraine.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in early February, NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine in partnership with ORLEN secured the supply of the first batch of American liquefied natural gas (LNG) for Ukraine in 2026, namely almost 100 million cubic meters.

The Greek joint venture Atlantic See LNG Trade has concluded the first agreement, which was signed on January 30, 2026, for the supply of LNG from the United States to Ukraine for delivery in March 2026.
