Five houses damaged in Zaporizhzhia due to nighttime drone attack, child among victims
On the night of February 24, russian troops conducted a series of drone strikes in Zaporizhzhia. At least eight hits were recorded in the city between 11:10 p.m. and 11:45 p.m. Residential neighborhoods and industrial facilities came under fire, injuring five people, including a child. It was reported by the State Emergency Service.
One of the hits was on an industrial building next to a nine-story building.
"Rescuers are eliminating the fire over an area of 200 square meters. The nearby houses were also damaged," the SESU said.
At another location, drones hit an open area near residential areas, damaging five five-story buildings and cars parked in the yards.
The head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, Ivan Fedorov, confirmed that utility companies and social services are already working on the ground to fix the damage and start restoration.
"My sincere gratitude to each and every one of you who have been countering enemy attacks with your work and love for your hometown for four years now."
All emergency services continue to work at the sites to help the residents of the damaged houses as quickly as possible.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on the night of February 23, the occupiers also attacked Zaporizhzhia with drones. An industrial facility was damaged, one person was killed and another was injured.
