Played trump card: in response to US Supreme Court decision, Trump introduced 10% global tariffs

US President Donald Trump announced that he had signed an executive order to introduce 10 percent global tariffs for all countries, which he had previously reported.

The White House leader reported this on his personal social network Truth Social.

"It is a great honor for me to sign an executive order in the Oval Office to introduce 10 percent global tariffs for all countries, which will take effect almost immediately," Trump stressed.

He previously said that he would introduce a 10 percent global tariff in accordance with the trade law known as Section 122. However, CNN writes that these tariffs can only be in effect for 150 days if the US Congress does not extend their effect.

At the same time, the White House reported that Trump's executive order on new tariffs will take effect on February 24.

Trump previously stated that now "other alternatives will be used" instead of the tariffs that the Supreme Court ruled illegal.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on February 20, the US Supreme Court ruled President Donald Trump's massive global tariffs illegal.
