Ukraine has launched a pilot project of eCheck, a state program of electronic checks in mobile banking. It was reported by the Ministry of Digital Transformation.

"We are launching the introduction of eCheck, an electronic check that is automatically saved right in your banking application. This is a convenient evolution of a familiar tool: no more paper and faded ribbons in your wallet. Your receipt is now where your finances are - in your smartphone," the statement reads.

What does this mean for customers?

According to the ministry, a paper receipt is easily lost, which creates inconvenience when you need to return the goods. With eCheck, this problem disappears.

What's the business benefit?

In 2025 alone, 9.49 billion checks were generated in Ukraine. Every year, businesses spend about UAH 600 million on paper for them alone. Less paper means less printing costs and fewer technical failures.

The full launch of the service is scheduled for the end of 2026.

How can businesses connect eCheck?

The program is open to businesses that work with cash registers / software cash registers and accept non-cash payments. Participation in the program is voluntary.

To connect the service, submit an application and set up a cash register according to instructions on the website.
