This year's Munich Conference was attended by Wladimir Klitschko: Vitali stayed to recover Kyiv after shelling
This year's Munich Security Conference was attended by Wladimir Klitschko. The mayor of Kyiv wrote about this in his Telegram channel.
"At the Munich Security Conference this time, my brother Wladimir spoke about the critical need to strengthen support and assistance to Ukraine and Kyiv. In particular, with German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius, Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski, President of the European Central Bank Christine Lagarde, German politicians and representatives of big business," Vitali Klitschko wrote.
He reported that Wladimir also attended the closed Freedom Night event, which is held by the Axel Springer media concern for informal communication of heads of state and government, ministers, diplomats and heads of the largest companies.
"Wladimir also attended the closed Freedom Night event, which is traditionally held on the sidelines of the Munich Conference by the media concern Axel Springer. It brought together heads of state and government, ministers, diplomats, and heads of major companies for informal communication. Among the guests were, in particular, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola, German Vice Chancellor Lars Klingbeil, Bavarian Prime Minister Markus Söder, and ministers of the German federal government. One of the main topics of discussion was the prospects for ending the war in Ukraine, assistance to our state, and European unity in issues of security guarantees for Ukraine and its future reconstruction," Vitali Klitschko said.
As previously reported, the mayor of Kyiv, who has regularly spoken at the Munich Security Conference since the start of the full-scale war, canceled his visit this year because the city needs to be rebuilt after russian attacks.
After the latest massive shelling, 700 houses in the capital were left without heat. Vitali Klitschko emphasized that utility workers are working around the clock and doing everything possible to restore water, heat, and electricity to the homes of Kyiv residents.
