Private remittances decline by 15% to USD 8 billion in 2025
The volume of private remittances in 2025 decreased by 14.7% to USD 8 billion.
This is stated in the data of the NBU, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
Salaries received by Ukrainians from abroad decreased by 15.6%; at the same time, other private transfers received through official channels were at the level of last year: they decreased by only 0.6%.
In total, remittances sent through official channels were 7.3% less than in 2024, while the flow through informal channels decreased by 25% compared to 2024.
In December 2025, remittances decreased by 6.3% to USD 0.7 billion.
Salaries received by Ukrainians from abroad decreased by 23.3%; other private remittances received through official channels increased by 8%.
In general, official channels sent 5.9% less remittances than in December 2024, while the flow through informal channels decreased by 7.1% compared to December 2024.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in 2024, the volume of private remittances decreased by 15.2% to USD 9.6 billion.
In 2023, the volume of private remittances decreased by 7.8% compared to 2022 and amounted to USD 11.6 billion.
In 2021, the volume of remittances to Ukraine increased by 25.4% to USD 15.026 billion compared to 2020.
In 2020, remittances increased by 1.7% to a record USD 12.1 billion.
