Russians attack railroad infrastructure seven times over Thursday - Svyrydenko
On Thursday, the army of the aggressor country russia attacked Ukrainian railway infrastructure seven times. Prime Minister of Ukraine Yuliia Svyrydenko said this on Friday, January 30.
According to her, one of these attacks was a strike by russian drones on the infrastructure of the Synelnykove railway station in the Dnipropetrovsk Region.
"Electric train cars were damaged during the standstill, freight cars, locomotives, tracks, power grids, administrative and industrial buildings. Fortunately, there were no casualties," Svyrydenko wrote.
The head of government emphasized that the aggressor country is purposefully attacking logistics routes, carrying out deliberate terror against the population and civilian logistics.
Svyrydenko added that for security reasons, Ukrzaliznytsia is forced to further restrict the connection between Dnipro and Zaporizhzhia. Due to russian strikes, all trains that were supposed to depart from Zaporizhzhia are now departing from Dnipro. Passengers from the Zaporizhzhia Region are being transported to Dnipro by bus.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on January 30, Ukrzaliznytsia announced restrictions on passenger train traffic between Dnipro and Zaporizhzhia. The reason for this was the strikes of russian UAVs on the railway infrastructure.
On January 28, the company announced that it had taken a number of operational decisions to protect passengers and railway workers amid the increased intensity of russian strikes on railway infrastructure.
We also wrote that on January 27, russian drones attacked a passenger train in the Kharkiv Region. One of the drones hit a carriage with people, causing it to catch fire. Six people were killed.
