Odesa Region: FSB saboteur who helped russians destroy objects of Defense Forces detained
Ukraine's Security Service detained another russian agent in the Odesa Region. The offender was searching for and transmitting the coordinates of local Defense Forces facilities, and later received a task to set fire to one of them. This is said in the SSU report.
According to the case file, the attacker was a 41-year-old unemployed resident of Izmail who was hiding from mobilization. The FSB of the russian aggressor country recruited him through Telegram channels, where he was looking for "easy money."
The main task of the enemy agent was to search for temporary deployment points of the Defense Forces. These were objects that the russians planned to attack from the air.
First of all, the attacker was interested in buildings that, in his opinion, could be used by the National Guard and the Military Law Enforcement Service.
To collect information, the enemy's accomplice secretly walked around the area, took photos of potential "targets," marked them on Google maps and sent them to the FSB curator via messenger.
"Later, the Russians ordered him to set fire to one of the 'found' objects. However, the SSU officers worked proactively and detained the enemy accomplice," the SSU said.
During the searches, the SSU seized a cell phone with evidence of correspondence and cooperation with the occupiers.
Based on the collected evidence, investigators of the Security Service informed the detainee of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (high treason committed under martial law).
The offender is in custody without the right to be released on bail. He faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, a military man who "leaked" air defense locations near airfields to the russians was detained in the Mykolaiv Region.
