Commenting on a series of recent detentions of gunners in different regions, the expert noted that it is the work of the SSU counterintelligence that prevents the enemy from adjusting the accuracy of shelling and makes it less effective. "Without this work, without the actions of counterintelligence, Russian strikes would be many times more painful. In total, during the full-scale war, the SSU exposed about 130 agent networks, which included almost 600 Russian agents. It is important that the Service does not limit itself to eliminating individual links, but systematically destroys entire networks. This does not leave the enemy the opportunity to quickly restore intelligence channels either in the rear or in the frontline regions," emphasizes Kurpas.

The expert emphasizes that counterintelligence is one of the key and most effective elements of the SSU today, which systematically outperforms russian special services. "We are not talking about individual successes, but about a well-established model of proactive work. The vast majority of detentions are preventive - before the agent has time to carry out a sabotage or pass critical data to the enemy," emphasizes Kurpas.

"It is worth noting personnel changes in the SSU leadership. Appointment of Oleksandr Poklad as the first deputy head of the Service means further strengthening of the counterintelligence direction," the expert summarizes.

Recall that earlier it became known that russia failed to conduct additional reconnaissance at the site of the Oreshnik strike in the Lviv Region: two agents were detained by the SSU counterintelligence "red-handed". In addition, the other day in Kyiv, the SSU detained a russian agent who was supposed to record the condition of the thermal power plant after the shelling and where to hit next time. It also became known about the detention of an FSB adjuster who helped bomb Sloviansk and agents who tried to burn military equipment in Kyiv, as well as a number of other enemy aides.
