Businesses will not pay fines if they fail to submit reports in time due to power outages.

Danylo Hetmantsev, a member of the Verkhovna Rada from the Servant of the People faction, the chairman of the parliamentary committee on finance, tax and customs policy, announced this on Telegram, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

"My friends, white businessmen, and you know that all white businessmen are my friends, are asking me to amend the Tax Code and release from liability taxpayers who, due to the power outage, were unable to file reports, register tax and excise invoices, pay taxes, etc. in a timely manner. I would like to inform you that such provisions have been introduced to the Tax Code since the start of the full-scale lockdown. Taxpayers are exempt from liability if they are unable to fulfill their tax obligations to file tax returns, register tax and excise invoices, etc., including in connection with the power outage," he wrote.

The MP emphasized that he is asking the Ministry of Finance and the Tax Service to urgently correct the unintentional distortions in law enforcement, when they require taxpayers to collect all the papers in the world to confirm force majeure.

He is convinced that an official notification of a power outage through the official channels of energy generating companies is sufficient and necessary proof.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Danylo Hetmantsev denied the possible introduction of an additional tax on restoration.
