Moscow proposes Ukraine share electricity from Zaporizhzhia NPP - Politico

During the trilateral talks in Abu Dhabi, the issue of the future fate of the Zaporizhzhia NPP became one of the main topics of discussion, with russia insisting on a scenario in which the electricity produced by the occupied plant would be distributed between Ukraine and the russian federation. This was reported by Politico, citing sources in the American administration.

Despite the fact that no specific agreement has been reached on the largest nuclear power plant in Europe so far, a significant part of the consultations this week was devoted to the economic aspects of the future settlement. American officials note that the delegations have begun to consider the pragmatic benefits of a possible ceasefire.

"Both sides are beginning to imagine what they can get from peace, such as a prosperity plan for Ukraine, some of these opportunities for russia to conclude business deals with the United States," said one of the officials.

Currently, the Zaporizhzhia NPP remains under russian occupation, but the issue of control over the facility and the distribution of its resources is a critical point in the negotiation process between Kyiv, Washington and Moscow.
