Kyiv continues to review critical infrastructure to free up additional electricity for household consumers, - Ministry of Energy

Kyiv has received 55 additional generators from the Energy Ministry's backup hub, and critical infrastructure facilities are being reviewed to release additional electricity for household consumers. It was announced by the Ministry of Energy on the Telegram channel, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

It is noted that as of January 21, the situation in the Ukrainian energy system remains difficult, the liquidation of the consequences of russia's constant attacks on energy infrastructure facilities continues, repair crews of power engineers and district heating companies are working continuously.

As a result of the enemy's night attacks, consumers in the Odesa, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv and Zaporizhzhia Regions were cut off from electricity in the morning, emergency repair work has begun in all regions.

The Ministry of Energy reports that in Kyiv and the Kyiv Region the situation remains difficult due to the additional load caused by frost, emergency crews from other regions and Ukrzaliznytsia are involved in restoring electricity and heat, distribution system operators continue to apply network restrictions, and hourly outage schedules are temporarily not in effect.

"Water supply has been restored in the capital. The operation of critical infrastructure facilities is being reviewed in order to release additional volumes of electricity for household consumers. Kyiv has received 55 additional generators from the reserve hub of the Ministry of Energy, assistance from partners is expected," the statement said.

The Ministry of Energy also emphasizes that due to the massive attacks of the russian federation, an emergency situation is in effect in the Ukrainian energy system on the verge of a humanitarian catastrophe

In Kyiv, as of the evening of January 20, more than one million consumers were without electricity, more than 4,000 apartment buildings were without heat.
