The aggressor country russia has attacked and destroyed a large facility of Kharkiv's critical energy infrastructure. The mayor of Kharkiv, Ihor Terekhov, announced this on his Telegram channel on Thursday, January 16.

Terekhov noted that the russian federation destroyed a large energy facility that belongs to critical infrastructure. Currently, emergency services and specialized specialists are working on the site to eliminate the consequences of the attack. According to him, the Emergency Response Center is working around the clock.

"I believe in our utilities and power engineers - they have repeatedly proved that they can work in the most difficult conditions. We have been preparing for various scenarios, and now we are acting clearly and responsibly. We will provide information promptly and to the point," wrote the mayor of Kharkiv.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on January 14, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that amid the strikes of the aggressor country russia and deteriorating weather conditions, a state of emergency would be introduced in the Ukrainian energy sector.
