Now we have 2 million Ukrainians on wanted list and 200,000 of those who unauthorizedly abandoned military units - new Defense Minister Fedorov
Presenting his candidacy for the post of the Minister of Defense, Mykhailo Fedorov said that radical and rapid changes in the military training system are needed. It was reported on his Telegram.
"It is necessary to quickly, once and for all, change the system of training of Ukrainian servicemen. High-quality training means reducing losses and increasing efficiency," he emphasized.
According to Fedorov, it is no longer possible to ignore the accumulated problems of territorial recruitment and social support centers, so after a comprehensive audit, a systemic solution will be proposed that will remedy the situation while maintaining the country's defense capability. He also released statistics: currently, 2 million Ukrainians are wanted, and another 200,000 people have left military units without permission.
In addition to personnel issues, the future minister plans to focus on technological re-equipment of the army, in particular, on providing brigades with drones. Fedorov emphasized that access to development opportunities should be equal for all units, not just for a select few.
"We have to scale up the strong and help those who are ready for it and work for results to grow. One of my first decisions as Minister of Defense will be to ensure the basic level of manning the brigades with drones, which is definitely lacking," said Fedorov.
He also noted that today only 50 top units account for 70% of enemy damage, and called to imagine the potential of the Defense Forces if we help the remaining 350 units to reach the same level of efficiency.
