No data on injured Ukrainians during protests in Iran - Foreign Ministry
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine reported that as of the morning of January 13, there was no information about dead, detained or injured Ukrainian citizens in Iran. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced this a commentary for Suspilne.
The Embassy of Ukraine in Tehran is operating normally and keeps the situation under control.
"As of this morning, the Embassy of Ukraine in Iran has not received any information about the presence of Ukrainian citizens among the dead, injured or detained. The institution continues to monitor the situation," the Foreign Ministry officially noted.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, yesterday, January 12, the Iranian human rights organization Iran Human Rights said that more than 6,000 people may have already been killed during the protests in Iran. At least 10,000 more protesters are likely to have been detained by security forces.
On January 9, Iran's Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi called on Trump to intervene and help the protesters who are calling for the overthrow of the ayatollahs' regime.
Also on January 9, Axios wrote that US intelligence had to revise its initial assessment of the protests in Iran. Initially, the intelligence services did not assume that the protests threatened the ayatollahs' regime.
US President Donald Trump has addressed the protesters in Iran, urging them to wait for help, which is already on the way.
