Lviv is facing a critical situation with power supply due to a change in the government's approach to the list of critical infrastructure facilities. Since last night, some of the city's medical facilities have been cut off from electricity and public electric transport has been completely shut down. Lviv Mayor Andrii Sadovyi has stated this, calling the decision to revise the criteria for criticality of enterprises "nonsense."

According to the mayor, the new rules have put vital equipment in hospitals and public transport on the general blackout schedule.

"I don't understand who came up with the idea to include hospitals and electric transport in the usual groups of blackouts. But from tonight, the city is forced to work according to a new schedule. That means that now artificial respiration devices, trams and trolleybuses have to work according to the outage schedules. This is nonsense!" Sadovyi emphasized

The mayor of Lviv said that since the morning he has been trying to contact members of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine to immediately remedy the situation and return healthcare facilities and transport to the list of facilities that are not subject to shutdowns.

The city is currently developing an emergency plan to provide alternative routes to ensure transportation of residents in the absence of trams and trolleybuses.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the mayor of Lviv warned of a possible difficult winter.
