Due to the continuous attacks of russian troops on the Kherson CHPP, it is currently impossible to resume the enterprise's operation. The deputy head of the Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Tolokonnikov, has reported this, according to Suspilne.

The facility has become a target for almost daily shelling, which leaves 470 apartment buildings in the city without centralized heating.

Given the impossibility of launching the CHPP in the near future, the authorities focused on providing residents with alternative heating sources.

"We are considering several options to help people to heat their homes in addition to the CHPP," he said.

Socially vulnerable people are already receiving electric heaters from the city administration, and Naftogaz has donated additional heaters for Kherson residents. At the same time, experts are developing other technical solutions to supply heat to homes, but their details are kept secret for security reasons.

The situation remains critical in the coastal communities of the region, where 45 settlements are still without electricity.

"We can't connect them yet, because there are constant "hits" where we have just worked. Sometimes it happens that they hit exactly where the electricians are working, and people who went to work were injured. That's why it's impossible to connect there until the security situation allows it," the official said.

According to Tolokonnikov, power engineers are always under enemy fire when trying to restore the networks. Until the security situation stabilizes, it is technically impossible to restore electricity in these villages, so the main efforts are now aimed at helping people survive the winter with the help of autonomous heating means.
