United States begun phased lifting of sanctions against russia
The United States has begun to gradually lift sanctions on individual companies and individuals that previously supplied equipment to russia, in particular for the defense sector. The reasons for this decision have not yet been made public.
The US Department of the Treasury reported this.
A number of foreign companies that cooperated with russian contractors, including those related to the military-industrial complex, have been removed from the sanctions lists. Among them is the Cypriot Veles International Limited and its owner Dmitry Bugaenko. At the same time, russian legal entities associated with this structure remain under restrictions.
Sanctions were also lifted from the Finnish company Hi-Tech Koneisto and its top manager, a Finnish citizen, Evgenia Dremova. The company supplied optoelectronic and laboratory equipment to russian sanctioned firms.
In addition, Dubai-based 365 Days Freight Services FZCO and Turkish Etasis, which exported equipment to the russian military-industrial complex, were removed from the restrictive lists. Sanctions were also lifted on Turkish CPS Proses Kontrol Urunleri Sanayi Ve Ticaret Anonim Sirketi, which supplied German and American-made machine tools to the russian defense contractor.
The American side has not yet explained the reasons for the decisions to lift sanctions on these companies and individuals. There is also no information yet on further US steps regarding the russian structures associated with them.
Earlier, a White House representative denied Bloomberg's publication about the alleged preparation of US sanctions against the russian energy sector, stating that the agency's information about the possible introduction of restrictions in the event of vladimir putin's refusal to sign a potential peace agreement is not true.
