Zelenskyy announces shortage of missiles for some Ukrainian air defense systems
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced a shortage of some missiles for air defense systems during a press conference in Brussels.
The President decided not to specify publicly what types of missiles and systems are being discussed in order not to provide the enemy with unnecessary intelligence.
"Today we are also talking about air defense, about some missiles, I don't want to say out loud, which are in short supply. There are some systems that do not have some types of missiles. Today I talked to our partners about what we can discuss for a long time, but every day we face launches of something. Every minute there are hits somewhere. We need to shoot it down," Zelenskyy said.
He noted that the mechanisms of support vary: partners either transfer missiles directly, provide licenses for their manufacture, or allocate funds for which Ukraine subsequently purchases weapons on its own.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Zelenskyy said that the "sensitive issues" of the peace plan, which have not yet been solved in the negotiations, are the Donbas, the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, and the "issue of money."
Also, during the press conference, Zelenskyy said that he was aware of the US position on deterring Ukraine's accession to NATO, but emphasized the immutability of strategic goals. Changing the constitutionally enshrined course for membership in the Alliance is not currently being considered.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the President said that Kyiv does not intend to give up the Donbas and does not recognize the temporarily occupied territories as part of russia either legally or factually.
