Trump's Special Envoy said that Lukashenko was giving US advice on war in Ukraine

US President Donald Trump's Special Envoy John Cole held a meeting with the self-proclaimed president of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, on December 12-13, during which the russian-Ukrainian war was also discussed. Cole said that Lukashenko was giving "advice" to the USA "on what to do with the war."

He said this at a meeting with journalists in Minsk, the BelTa propaganda agency cites on December 13.

Trump's Special Envoy said that Lukashenko was advising the US "on what to do with the war between russia and Ukraine." At the same time, he described these tips as "good".

Cole drew attention to Lukashenko's "long history" of relations with russian dictator vladimir putin. He called them old friends who had the necessary level of relations to "discuss similar issues."

He added that putin can accept some advice and not accept others, but this is "a way to help the process."

As a reminder, after the USA announced the lifting of sanctions on Belarusian potash as a result of the September negotiations, Lukashenko released more than a hundred political prisoners, including the ex-candidate for the presidency of Belarus in the 2020 elections, Viktor Babarika, and the head of his election staff, Maria Kolesnikova

Trump's Special Envoy Keith Kellogg stated in September that the agreement on the release of political prisoners in exchange for the easing of sanctions against Minsk was implemented primarily to "secure communication channels" with russian leader vladimir putin.

Meanwhile, in November, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the self-proclaimed president of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, had recently "become very talkative" and emphasized that he would still pay for participating in the war against Ukraine.
