Explosions in Kyiv, where National Guard officer was killed, investigated as terrorist attack
Two explosions that occurred today in the Darnytskyi District of Kyiv and resulted in the death of a National Guard officer are being investigated as a terrorist attack. The press service of the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office reported this on Thursday, December 11.
The first explosion occurred when two National Guardsmen were patrolling the area, killing one of them and injuring the other and a security guard. The second explosion occurred when police officers and paramedics were already working at the scene. Two police officers were injured.
"Investigators of the SSU Main Directorate in Kyiv and the Kyiv Region under the procedural supervision of the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office launched a pre-trial investigation into two explosions in the Darnytskyi District of Kyiv. The incident is classified under Part 3 of Article 258 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, namely as a terrorist act that led to the death of a person," the statement said.
